Our original reason for visiting Cheltenham was to visit The Wilson Museum. They had launched the Frozen Continent exibition with some amazing artifacts from the Wilson Family collection.

We took Acorn to a very unusual campervan site and stayed at Cheltenham Racecourse for the weekend. The Cheltenham Literature festival was on and we went to see Chris Packham on Friday evening speaking about his new book and TV series – Earth.

A great afternoon visiting this Jacobean country house. Chastleton was built between 1607 and 1612 by the prosperous wool merchant, Walter Jones, as an impressive statement of his wealth and power. Today we had a drive out in Acorn to Upton House (A National Trust property) – Lord and Lady Bearsted’s 1930s country retreat with dramatic terraced gardens and world-renowned art collection. Enjoyed lunch in the café, walking around the house & gardens, the 2nd hand book shop and then scones & afternoon tea!
